It's official, I just received my CCEP certification and successfully added those 4 initials to my title.
CCEP stands for Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practicioner. It is a continuing education certification for doctors of chiropractic seeking a specialized education in post graduate work on treating and diagnosing musculoskeletal injuries in the extremities.
Anyone can say they treat extremities but very few can say that they specialize in extremities, and this post graduate course truly does set CCEP doctors apart from the rest in terms of your extremity needs. The certification included an eight part series whose modules cover everything from adjusting, diagnosing, and rehabilitative treatment strategies for treating injuries to extremities, including: soft tissue mobilization techniques, corrective exercises, therapeutic stretches, and much more. These are common injuries for the everyday person and more specifically, athletes and fitness enthusiasts.
The average person doesn’t realize the effect that your extremities can have on your body as a whole. Did you know that low back pain can be caused by dysfunctional movement patterns of the lower extremity?
Does this help to explain that nagging low back complaint that nothing seems to help? Well, maybe you should have your feet, ankles, knees, and hips checked by an extremity specialist.
Everyone can benefit by having their spine and extremities examined by a CCEP specialist. Please feel free to email me with any questions you may have, or if you are in the Tacoma, WA area call (253) 474-0677 to schedule your appointment with me today.
